So it’s been a hard few days around here. As a lot of you know Ben went for a run a few days ago and got hit by a car. We were very blessed that day because he walked away with no broken bones. He’s still super sore due to massive bruising so this is where we’re at. Ben is learning to relax to let his body heal.

I’ve been tending to my little sweets for a few days and what better way than to give him great food! Here comes this recipe. WE LOVE wontons but have never made them and then I got the Cravings cookbook by Chrissy Teigen…

Who am I

about me | August 30, 2018 | By

Salty avocado perfectly describes who I am. I love salty snacks and avocados. I mean who doesn’t though. My name is Éliane Fréchette and yes I’m french and from Montreal. I grew up in a french household where all of our meals were basically made from scratch.

I had no idea what junk food was. Captain crunch you may ask? Not sure who that is.

My moms idea of dessert was to grab a yogurt. So it’s safe to say that’s why my sweet tooth never developed. My parents never used to have junk food in the house. We would go buy chips once in a while for movie night and were never allowed to fully finish the bag. My mother would close it really well every time and throw it in the garbage lol 🤦🏼‍♀️ we would often sneak in the middle of the night to steal the bag!

On the other hand my dad worked for a soap company and used to go around to restaurants and examine their cleanliness. So whenever we would go out to eat we had to go somewhere nice because he knew too much about certain kitchens. So one can say that my love for food has stemmed from my upbringing.

I love healthy foods that taste good. I like to make every bite count. I like balance; a little bit of fat has never hurt anyone right? Give me all of the salt and savoury flavours but keep the sugar ok — I’m not a great baker anyway just ask my bff — You won’t find too much sugary stuff on here (sorry ben I won’t tell you where I hid the sugar).

So here’s my promise to you:

– I will make amazing tasting food

– Most of my meals will be savoury with just the right amount of salt

– I probably won’t be making dessert unless it’s easy or some else is there to assist

– I will tell you to go grab a yogurt because all that probiotic is real good and will help keep you regular
